In the past few weeks, we’ve had an influx of customers who received cleanings from other companies that was unacceptable.
With all of the misinformation and new carpet cleaning companies in the area, it’s important to us that we help you make an informed decision.
Many dry carpet cleaning companies love to use the word “wet” as if it’s taboo. Dry Carpet Cleaning and Hot Water Extraction both have their respected place in the industry. However, Dry Carpet Cleaning should not be the only method of cleaning. This is like having one tool in your tool box.
Every home is unique with different types of soil conditions. Because of this, in 2009 we began to offer Dry Carpet Cleaning for clients which can benefit from it. However, this is not our primary cleaning method. Companies that operate exclusively as a dry carpet cleaning service are not performing cleanings recommend by the carpet manufacture.
Shaw Flooring along with other carpet mills recommend “Hot Water Extraction” as the preferred method. Further, should you have a carpet warranty, the Mr.Steamer process is the only “approved” method of cleaning. Using a company that exclusively cleans as a dry method can void your warranty.
Here is what Shaw has to say:
Shaws choice: Hot water extraction
Research indicates that the hot water extraction system provides the best capability for cleaning. This system is commonly referred to as “steam cleaning,” although no steam is actually generated. The process consists of applying a cleaning agent into the carpet pile and using water in the extractor to recover the used solution and soil. This can be done from a truck-mounted unit outside the home with only the hose and wand brought inside.
Mr.Steamer performs “Hot Water Extraction” as our primary method of cleaning with a truckmounted unit. We understand certain home owners prefer another method of cleaning and because of this, we offer dry carpet cleaning.
We’ve perfected our cleaning system and most carpets are dry within 3 hrs, not days! The fact is, we beat dry and standard steam cleaning companies in quality and service.
Why are their so many new carpet cleaning companies every year?
The reason you see many portable and dry carpet cleaning companies is because the equipment to start one is a small fraction of purchasing a truckmount. You will come across many new cleaners who are learning how to clean. The issue is, they are learning one method and one that is not recommended. Not to mention, your carpet is their lab.
Dry Carpet Cleaning companies are not the only one guilty of this. Every year, thousands of people will purchase portable extractors and claim to be carpet cleaners.
Confusion, Low Prices and bad service.
Every year, new companies advertise in the monthly mailers, Craig list, telephone poles and the next year, these companies do not exist. You can easily spot these companies by the low prices of $30 or less per room rates and portable only equipment. Their goal is fast cash and if your not careful, you can void your warranty and invite persons with questionable backgrounds into your home. Not to mention, the liability you put yourself in when dealing with these companies. It takes about 5 years to become proficient in floor care.
When consumers see low prices around town, they assume this must be the average price. We receive calls asking if we can price match these companies. We cannot. This is like asking a car dealer to match the price of a 2001 compact car to a 2014 sports car. Both vehicles will get you where you need to go but one has the better performance, warranty and is reliable.
Every Mr.Steamer van is stocked with up to $70,000 worth of equipment. We have invested into our own exclusive All Natural cleaning solution. We created our own Cleaning Academy. Our reputation is second to none. The end result is you get better service and a quality cleaning.
What To Look For.
Before you hire any carpet cleaner, be sure they own and operate a truckmounted unit. Portable units are to be used as a last resort. Also, dry carpet cleaning is great for certain homes however, is not recommend for every home. What this means is only a few residential and commercial clients are eligible to receive dry carpet cleanings. You can also call us and we can guide you in the right direction whether you use us or not.

A Mr.Steamer Cleaning will not void your warranty!
